Terms of use
Last updated 4 October 2026
PartCheck (partcheck.app) is a free tool run by Andreas Mysen, a private individual in Norway. By using it you agree to these terms. They are short, and the one that matters most is the second.
What PartCheck is
PartCheck compares STEP files, measures wall thickness and checks parts against manufacturing rules, entirely in your browser. It is free and needs no account. Features may change or be withdrawn, and I cannot promise it will always be available.
Results are estimates
PartCheck reads geometry alone, from a meshed copy of your part. Its comparisons, measurements, estimates and checks are approximations, and they can be wrong or incomplete. The manufacturability checks are in beta: they can miss a problem, or flag one that is not there, and a clean result is not proof that a part can be made.
Use PartCheck to find what is worth a closer look, not in place of engineering judgement or your manufacturer's own review. Confirm anything that matters before you commit to tooling, production or a purchase.
No warranty
PartCheck is provided as it is and as available, without warranties of any kind — including that it is accurate, fit for a particular purpose, or free of errors and interruptions — as far as the law allows.
Liability
As far as the law allows, I am not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using PartCheck or relying on its results, including the cost of tooling, scrap, rework or delay, and lost profit. This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for gross negligence or intent.
Your files
Your files and the reports you make from them are yours. PartCheck does not upload your files, and I claim no rights in them. You are responsible for having the right to open the files you use — under a confidentiality agreement covering a client's parts, for example. How data is handled is in the privacy policy.
Fair use
Don't try to disrupt PartCheck or get around its limits, and don't use the feedback form to send spam or anything unlawful.
Feedback
If you send a suggestion, I may use it to improve PartCheck, without any obligation to you.
Open-source software
PartCheck includes open-source software under its own licences, listed on the licences page. Nothing in these terms restricts the rights those licences give you — including, for the LGPL-licensed STEP reader, modifying it and the reverse engineering needed to debug such modifications.
Changes
I may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and using PartCheck after a change means you accept the new version.
Law
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and disputes go to the Norwegian courts — unless mandatory consumer protection rules where you live give you the right to use your own.
